El trabajo se llev\u00f3 a cabo en la provincia de salamanca, al interior de la peninsula ib\u00e9rica. el objetvo del estudio fue estudiar la eficiencia en el uso de nitrogeno (nue) a trav\u00e9s de sus dos componentes: el tiempo de residencia del nitrogeno (mrt) y la productividad (a). Adem\u00e1s se estudio la absorci\u00f3n desde el suelo, el almacenamiento y la transferencia de nitr\u00f3geno entre diferentes compartimientos de la planta a lo largo del ciclo anual. Q.Ilex es la especie con una estrategia m\u00e1s conservadora en lo que a utilizaci\u00f3n de nitrogeno se refiere, presentando el mayor tiempo de residencia y la menor productividad de este nutriente. esta estrategia le permite mantener un elevado balance de nitr\u00f3geno con una menor dependencia de la absorcion y por tanto de su disponibilidad en el suelo. Por otra parte, q.Pyrenaica es la especie menos conservadora debido al menor tiempo de residencia del nitrogeno, perdiendo gran parte del nitr\u00f3geno perdido a trav\u00e9s de la hojarasca. Q.Faginea presenta una estrategia intermedia en la conservaci\u00f3n del nitr\u00f3geno. La intensidad de la retranslocaci\u00f3n y movilizaci\u00f3n del nitr\u00f3geno almacenado en la planta depende de la relaci\u00f3n entre los aportes por absorci\u00f3n de nitr\u00f3geno almacenado en la planta depende de la relaci\u00f3n entre los aportes por absorci\u00f3n de nitrogeno desde el suelo y los requerimientos de la nueva cohorte de hojas, con independencia de la longevidad foliar.
