Para ello, se realiza un recorrido por las fuentes cl\u00e1sicas, los testimonios latino-medievales, las versiones human\u00edsticas, las trudcciones y las versiones po\u00e9ticas que han transmitido la leyenda desde la antig\u00ed\u00bcedad hasta xvi. El primer cap\u00edtulo trata la perivencia del mito desde las primeras im\u00e1genes iconogr\u00e1ficas en el arte funerario y en utensilio dom\u00e9sticos de la antig\u00ed\u00bcedad hasta llegar al comentario del asinus aureus por filippo beroaldo al filo de 1500. El segundo empieza por trazar un panorama de las traducciones vern\u00e1culas europeas del asinus (boiardo, firenzuola, michel, adlington, etc), con idea de situar en los contexto la traslaci\u00f3n del arcediano diego l\u00f3pez de cortegana, de la que se realiza un estudio monogr\u00e1fico, as\u00edmismo, se ofrece, en el tercer cap\u00edtulo, un panorama de las versiones po\u00e9ticas europeas del mito durante el xvi y un estudio monogr\u00e1fico de la historia de psique, traducida, obra de gutierre de cetina, que representa el principal testimonio po\u00e9tico en la literatura espa\u00f1ola de la primera mitad del xvi. El \u00faltimo cap\u00edtulo lo constituye el an\u00e1lisis del manuscrito 3949 de la biblioteca nacional de Madrid, que comprende la psique de juan de mal lara el testimonio po\u00e9tico m\u00e1s importante en el proceso de difusi\u00f3n y recreaci\u00f3n de la leyenda en la segunda mitad del xvi y la traslaci\u00f3n al castellano de la psique de girolamo fracastoro por fernando de herrera, inserta a modo de colof\u00f3n. adem\u00e1s, se editan a modo de ap\u00e9ndice una serie de domcuentos in\u00e9ditos que vienen a ilustrar la exposici\u00f3n
