Se han encontrado 10 tipos distintos de bs en las poblaciones estudiadas.  los bs en esta especie tienen un efecto parasitico leve.  el efecto favorable en plantas 1b no es importante en el mantenimiento de los polimorfismos pues este tipo de plantas sufre considerables perdidas del b en la gametogenesis.  diferentes genotipos controlan la transmision de los bs.  la seleccion natural puede actuar contra el genotipo del alta transmision.
