En este proceso interviene la fibronectina que forma parte de las proteinas de la matriz extracelular y que se encuentra en los fluidos del organismo. Staphylococcus aureus es un patogeno frecuentemente aislado en infecciones graves como endocarditis infeccion y sepsis.  en este trabajo, se estudia el efecto que producen los antimicrobianos a concentraciones subinhibitorias sobre las interacciones de la fibronectina con s. Aureus.  azitiomicina, nafloriaceno, tetraciclina, clindanvicina y ciprofloxacino impiden la adhesion de s. Aureus a la fibronectina, ampicilina, sultamicilina y cefovaxina favorecen la adhesion, mientras que kanamicina y teicoplamina no la afectan. Tambien se estudian los parametros que afectan dichas interacciones y el papel de la fibronectina en la adhesion de s.
