Carmen <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>En esta tesis doctoral se han estudiado dos aspectos relacionados con la estructura del endotelio y el mantenimiento de la integridad del mismo. En la primera parte del trabajo, se demuestra que el endotelio presenta proteinas adhesivas pertenecientes a la familia de las integrinas, no solo en la superficie apical de las celulas, en contacto con los elementos de la sangre.  en la segunda parte de esta tesis, se estudia la activacion del sistema proteolitico del plasminogeno en la superficie celular del endotelio; es decir, se estudia un proceso de proteolisis pericelular. Los resultados obtenidos durante este estudio permiten concluir que el plasminogeno puede ser activado por el activador de tipo uroquinasa estando ambas moleculas unidas a la membrana plasmatica. La formacion de la proteasa plasmina en la superficie celular conlleva un aumento de la permeabilidad endotelial para macromoleculas.
