En el desarrollo de la tesis se incluye: que factores determinan la tematica religiosa en el barroco espa\u00f1ol y el colonial colombiano; que arte llega a colombia y en que forma es trabajado y asimilado, para llegar a determinar las similitudes y diferencias de las series arcangelicas de ambos paises; el tema de las jerarquias celestes y la representacion de los angeles en el arte, abordando despues america en la zona andina durante el virreinato.  como tema principal se estudian 7 series arcangelicas con 67 obras: 34 espa\u00f1olas y 33 colombianas, incluyendo el proceso de restauracion de una serie colombiana (12 oleos) con el analisis cientifico y el equivalente de 2 obras espa\u00f1olas. Como punto final, por analisis comparativo, se determinan que elementos del barroco espa\u00f1ol tienen presencia e influencia en el colonial colombiano, referido al tema de las series arcangelicas.  al finalizar y antes de la bibliografia, se incluye un glosario para la aclaracion de algunos terminos.
