Se identifican receptores funcionales para glutamato de tipo nmda en la linea celular pc12. Tras la caracterizacion molecular y funcional de estos receptores, se analiza su posible mediacion en un proceso de excitotoxicidad por glutamato.  el segundo modelo estudiado comprende el proceso de estres oxidativo que conduce a la muerte celular de cultivos primarios inmaduros de celulas de corteza e hipocampo cerebrales, tras la exposicion a glutamato. Se observa un aumento en los niveles de expresion de los genes tempranos factores de transcripcion c-fos y c-jun y el gen de la ciclooxigenasa inducible cox-2. La supresion de la traduccion de la proteina cox-2 demuestra conferir proteccion frente a la muerte por estres oxidativo.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
