Hodgson en el a\u00f1o 1989. Para ello se han irradiado muestras de zafiro de alta pureza con electrones de 1.8 mev en un acelerador van de graaff y se han realizado medidas de absorcion optica y radioluminiscencia en la linea del acelerador. A traves de dichas medidas se ha observado que al irradiar zafiro con un campo electrico aplicado de 200 kv\/m y a una temperatura por encima de 150c se producen centros f+ en lugar de centros f. Tambien se ha observado experimentalmente que estos centros f+ se agregan durante irradiacion dando lugar a centros f2 y coloides de aluminio, siendo esta la primera vez que dichos coloides han sido observados. Finalmente se ha desarrollado un modelo capaz de explicar el efecto del campo electrico en las vacantes de oxigeno.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
