En base a esto se plantea la hipotesis de que esta transferencia de informacion debe dejar una \u00abhuella\u00bb interpretable en terminos de complejidad y diversidad. Los valores de diversidad estaran asi determinados tanto por estos factores como por cambios de uso y variaciones climaticas que en ultima medida interfieren en los flujos de energia.  se han analizado 50 fronteras a distintas escalas de detalle, estudiando los valores de diversidad y su relacion con factores locales propios del ambiente donde se localizan y con la tension floristica y termodinamica entre los dos subsistemas en contacto.  los resultados obtenidos permiten describir un modelo de variacion de la diversidad en estas zonas y tipificar las diferentes situaciones de contacto monte-pastizal en el area de estudio. La regulacion de la diversidad en montes y pastizales responde a procesos muy diferentes. Los pastizales mas homogeneos que los montes pero de mayor diversidad responden fundamentalmente a factores relacionados con el uso por parte de los herbivoros siendo relativamente independientes de otros factores bioticos y abioticos. Por el contrario las zonas de monte estan condicionadas por un conjunto amplio de parametros (biomasa acumulada, estructura floristica) que responden fundamentalmente a procesos naturales (climaticos, sucesionales, etc.).  los flujos de energia entre ambos sistemas, y su influencia en la organizacion de los mismos, parece quedar atenuada frente a la exportacion de energia que supone el consumo de
