Esta tesis tiene como fin descubrir la esencia y las caracteristicas del neobarroco en las obras narrativas de guillermo cabrera infante.  como base teorica se investiga el barroco hispanico, el post-estructuralismo, la postmodernidad, la fisica moderna y el pensamiento oriental en relacion del neobarroco, de modo que se definen el fondo diacronico y sincronico del neobarroco.  en el analisis textual, las obras, narrativas de cabrera infante se analizan en tres niveles: lenguaje, estructura narrativa y tematica.  mediante dicho analisis, podemos concluir que la escritura de cabrera infante es un continuo juego de palabras por el cual malgasta el lenguaje solo en funcion de placer y no de utilidad, a partir del principio repetitivo y ludico.
