Del estudio del estado actual de estos controles, se deduce que no hay soluciones definitivas y que los metodos analiticos son muy ineficientes para trafico heterogeneo y fuentes de velocidad variable, ademas de no ser adaptativos. Por otro lado, los metodos de aprendizaje, en especial los basados en redes neuronales artificiales, prometen ser una solucion muy razonable, aunque no exenta de algunos problemas. Esta tesis estudia las dificultades planteadas y propone algunas soluciones. Para ello, se implementa un entorno de simulacion que permita analizar varios controles de admision de conexion y funciones de vigilancia, unos representativos de las investigaciones en curso y otros
