La formulacion general de estos problemas parte de la consideracion de una funcion f que, esta relacionada de alguna forma, con un conjunto de medidas (datos) y a traves de la relacion y=pf. El objetivo final es obtener f, para lo que se requiere esencialmente la inversion, en algun sentido, del operador p.  en este trabajo se abordan los problemas de inversion mediante metodos iterativos. El problema especifico de inversion tratado en este trabajo es el de la reconstruccion de imagenes 3d (funcion f) a partir de un conjunto de datos y que son las proyecciones 2d del objeto f, obtenidas mediante tomografia de transmision (electronica o de rayos-x). Las tecnicas iterativas que se utilizan aqui pertenecen a una familia de algoritmos denominados de forma general como tecnicas algebraicas de reconstruccion (algebraic reconstruction techniques, art).
