En este ultimo tejido se ha observado que tras su administracion sistemica demuestra capacidad para restaurar, en animales viejos, el numero de receptores acercandolos a los valores de animales adultos jovenes. Atendiendo a este hallazgo se planteo el estudio de la influencia de sam, administrado sistematicamente, sobre la dinamica receptorial muscarinica en animales jovenes mediante estudios \u00abin vitro\u00bb con tecnicas de radioligandos. De este estudio se concluyo que sam produce un aumento selectivo del numero de receptores del subtipo m1 en cerebro de ratas jovenes sin cambio en la afinidad. Mientras que sobre los subtipos m2 y m3 expresados en cerebro o ventriculo y en cerebro anterior o glandula supraorbitaria, respectivamente, no se observo modificaciones ni en el numero de receptores
