El analisis de la secuencia de aminoacidos parcial de esta proteina revelo un nivel de homolog\u00eda del 50-70% en comparacion con las lipasas pancreaticas.  por otro lado, en relacion al diluyente, se ha puesto en evidencia que los componentes lacteos igualmente implicados en el deterioro espermatico estan representados por las proteinas de la leche al favorecer la actividad lipolitica de sbu60 y ademas, por los trigliceridos residuales de la leche descremada.  por ultimo, estos componentes bulbouretrales y lacteos provocarian el deterioro de los espermatozoides a traves del siguiente mecanismo de accion: la lipasa de sbu hidrolizaria los trigliceridos residuales de la leche descremada liberando acidos grasos toxicos para los espermatozoides.
