Los principales activos estudiados y las bases de los metodos son los siguientes: el antihipertensivo pindolol, fluorescente en medio hidroalcoholico; los tranquilizantes trimepracina y trifluoperacina capaces de reducir el ce(iv) a ce(iii), fluorescente; drogas conteniendo grupos tioles como la penicilamina y el tiopromin que se oxidan con ti(iii), en medio hc1, para dar t1c132- luminiscente; el antidepresivo imipramina que dorma un par ionico con el colorante eritrosina b, extraible en cloroformo; la isoniacida y el acido ascorbido, que dan productos fluorescentes a traves de reacciones fotoquimicas.
