Los objetivos basicos son:  1. Investigar en la linea de i+d, el desarrollo de un sistema que permita incrementar la eficacia industrial y educativa del dise\u00f1o mecanico, probando la capacidad y potencial de los sistemas expertos para solucionar problemas en ingenieria.  2. Encontrar la metodolog\u00eda de desarrollo y aplicacion en un cierto numero de casos reales, desde los puntos de vista industrial y educacional.  el sistema de dise\u00f1o inteligente integra:  * un sistema experto, como metodo de representacion y tratamiento del conocimiento.  * un sistema de dise\u00f1o asistido por ordenador (cad).  * un sistema de base de datos, conteniendo las caracteristicas fisica, propiedades&#8230;  * otros software de desarrollo propio. Realizan analisis, calculo, modelizado y simulacion de los componentes y mecanismos dise\u00f1ados.  la interfaz empleada, proporciona un amplio rango de herramientas para la aplicacion. Se ha optado por la programacion orientada al objeto, sobre una base de conocimientos correspondiente a mecanismos de elevacion.  el asesoramiento esta basado en las normas correspondientes (fem, din,
