La trh es un inductor de la proliferacion celular tiroidea; sin embargo, su capacidad para aumentar la proliferacion de las celulas foliculares es considerablemente menor que la de arg-vasopresina. La oxitocina modifica la morfolog\u00eda de los foliculos tiroideos y aumenta la proliferacion de las celulas foliculares de forma muy semejante a como lo hace la trh.
