Siglos xv-xix\u00bb es un estudio dividido en dos partes fundamentales. La primera de ellas esta dedicada al analisis del origen, evolucion y decadencia del gremio de plateros de ecija, exponiendo las circunstancias que rodeaban la practica del oficio de platero en esta ciudad, desde las primeras noticias halladas -de 1351- hasta la segunda mitad del siglo xix.  tambien se aportan estudios sobre la figura del fiel contraste y sobre la creacion -en 1786- del colegio de plateros de ecija, bajo la advocacion de san eloy.  concluye este primer apartado con las biografias de 195 plateros activos en ecija entre los siglos xv y xix.  la segunda parte estudia la evolucion artistica de la plateria ecijana desde el estilo gotico final hasta las esteticas romanticas de fines del siglo xix. Dicho estudio se ha basado en la catalogacion de las mas de 800 piezas de orfebreria religiosa que hoy se conservan en ecija.
