Jose <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Practicamente todos los procesos celulares son sensibles al ph. El metabolismo, la motilidad, el potencial de membrana, el crecimiento, la proliferacion y la diferenciacion celular, los efectos hormonales y los mecanismos de transporte a traves de la membrana plasmatica, entre otros, estan regulados por el ph intracelular (phi). Como consecuencia, las celulas tienen una necesidad absoluta de mantener el ph citosolico dentro de limites muy estrechos. En el presente trabajo se ha observado que el phi de los enterocitos de pollo no se mantiene constante al modificar el extracelular, si bien la concentracion citosolica de protones en todos los casos fue menor que la que cabria esperar si los protones se distribuyeran pasivamente a traves de la membrana. La disminucion del pho por debajo del valor fisiologico, 7,4, disminuye la capacidad de la etilisopropilamilorida para inhibir el intercambiador na+-h+. Un aumento del pho por encima del valor fisiologico parece incrementar el valor del phi al que el intercambiador na+-h+ se inactiva. Por otro lado se ha estudiado la presencia en los enterocitos de pollo de un cotransportador na+-hco3-, que es funcional en condiciones basales, y por tanto contribuye al mantenimiento del phi basal, y tambien interviene en la recuperacion del phi tras una carga acida moderada. La relacion entre actividad del cotransportador na+-hco3- y la concentracion extracelular de na+ sigue una cinetica tipo michaelis-menten, con una constante aparente de transporte para el na+ de 11 mm.  tambien se ha estudiado la recuperacion del phi tras una carga acida, independiente de na+ y de bicarbonato y se ha observado que los enterocitos de pollo poseen una conductancia a protones que es electrogenica. La conductancia a protones es directamente inhibida por el zn2+ y la rotenona, e indirectamente por el sch 28080, el dccd y el nbd-cl. La conductancia a protones esta regulada por la concentracion citosolica de protones.
