El dise\u00f1o incluye los aspectos relacionados con dimensionamiento, distribucion en planta y en vertical, y asignacion de maquinaria. El programa desarrollado en visual basic, se caracteriza por su gran facilidad de uso.  se ha formulado un modelo biologico general para el dise\u00f1o de los procesos mas utilizados en depuracion, siendo validado con datos de edar en funcionamiento obtenidos de la bibliografia. Los modelos utilizados para el dise\u00f1o de los tratamientos fisicos y quimicos de depuracion de aguas residuales se han adaptado de la bibliografia.  las capacidades del sistema datar para el dise\u00f1o y verificacion y ampliacion de edar en funcionamiento se han evaluado a traves del dise\u00f1o de la edar de caudiel de proxima construccion y de las edar en funcionamiento de els ibarsos,
