Recientemente, se ha descrito que la relajacion beta-adrenergica puede ser mediada por oxido nitrico (no). El presente estudio caracteriza la reactividad al agonista beta2-adrenergico, salbutamol, en la vena mesenterica aislada de ratas con hp, y el posible papel que el no desempe\u00f1a en esta respuesta. La hp fue inducida por ligadura parcial de la vena porta. Anillos de vena mesenterica desprovistos de endotelio fueron montados en ba\u00f1o de organos para registro isometrico de tension. La relajacion al salbutamol fue evaluada en ausencia y en presencia del inhibidor de la sintesis de no, l-name y del bloqueante neuronal, tetrodotoxina. La relajacion inducida por el salbutamol en la vena mesenterica de animales hipertensos fue significativamente menor que en los anillos control. La incubacion con l-name, ttx y\/o indometacina, inhibio significativamente la relajacion inducida por el salbutamol.
