A diferencia de la edicion convencional con texto intencionalista, eclectico y de lectura unificada a partir del segundo cuarto y el infolio, la edicion sinoptica -inspirada en el \u00abenfolded hamlet\u00bb de b. W.  kliman (1996)- pretende aproximar al lector la diversidad textual entre estos testimonios, mediante una presentacion simultanea de textos en la que una edicion critica del segundo cuarto se superpone a una edicion critica del infolio, mostrando las variaciones substantivas verticalmente sobre lineas paralelas. Ambas ediciones, con grafia modernizada, estan realizadas siguiendo una actitud conservadora, no eclectica por principio.
