Dichas citocinas aumentan la actividad metastasica de algunas neoplasias experimentales en el higado. Sin embargo, no se conoce que influencia pueden tener los mro, inducidos por dichas citocinas, sobre la actividad metastasica.  el presente trabajo pretendio estudiar la produccion de peroxido de hidrogeno por celulas endoteliales aisladas del sinusoide hepatico, su regulacion por il-1, tanto exogena (recombinante humana), como endogena (del propio melanoma), y sus efectos directos, in vitro, sobre la adhesion, viabilidad e invasion del melanoma b16; e indirectos, in vivo, sobre la formacion de metastasis.  las determinaciones de mro producidos por el endotelio sinusoidal hepatico (en concreto de peroxido de hidrogeno) se efectuaron durante su interaccion con celulas del melanoma b16, y se compararon con lo ocurrido en condiciones basales, en respuesta a la il-1beta humana recombinante, y tras la accion de un antagonista especifico del receptor de il-1 (il-1ra) y un anticuerpo monoclonal neutralizante de il-1 (anti-il-1).  la implicacion de los mro generados por el endotelio sinusoidal hepatico en el aumento de metastasis inducido por la il-1, se determino mediante el estudio de la capacidad metastasica del melanoma b16 en el higado de ratones con una inflamacion sistemica inducida por il-1beta, tratados con catalasa o superoxido dismutasa.  asimismo, se midieron los efectos de estos antioxidantes sobre el comportamiento adhesivo in vitro del melanoma b16, en co-cultivo sobre endotelio sinusoidal hepatico activado por il-1beta; y sobre el comportamiento invasivo del mismo tumor a traves de matrigel tm, en presencia de medio condicionado
