Esta tesis doctoral trata de ir rastreando en todas las huellas homoeroticas que asoman a lo largo de la historia del arte en las imagenes de sebastian martir. El trabajo analiza los distintos elementos de la iconografia sebastiniana (representacion del cuerpo, de las vestiduras, del cabello, de los angeles, mujeres o soldados que le acompa\u00f1an, etc.) Desde una optica iconologica que debe mucho a las teorias de erwin panofski en cuanto a que en nuestro trabajo hacemos acopio de informacion proveniente de la literatura, la sociolog\u00eda, la religion, etc.  esta investigacion trata de asentar cientificamente lo que durante siglos fue una opinion extendida, es decir, que las representaciones de san sebastian martir debian mucho al
