Estas determinaciones se llevaron a cabo a lo largo del ciclo estral de la rata. Ademas se determino el efecto que producia la ovariectomia y la posterior administracion de tratamientos con estrogenos y progestagenos. Las actividades enzimaticas estudiadas fueron tres actividades tyr-aminopeptidasa degradadoras de encefalinas, una en la fraccion soluble y dos unidas a membrana, la aminopeptidasa m y la mii. Asimismo se ensayo una actividad piroglutamato- aminopeptidasa soluble, degradadora de peptidos cuyo aminoacido n-terminal es unpiroglutamico. Los resultados obtenidos a lo largo del ciclo estral demostraron como durante la fase de proestro se producia un incremento en la actividad de la tyr-aminopeptidasa soluble a nivel hipotalamico, y de la aminopeptidasa m a nivel hipotalamico, hipofisario y amigdalino. En cuanto a la pglu-aminopeptidasa, se observaron incrementos durante el proestro a nivel hipofisario, amigdalino y medular. El analisis de estos resultados parece asignar un papel a estas aminopeptidasas en el mecanismo del control de la liberacion ciclica hormonal, estando regulado el control de la actividad de estos
