Bego\u00f1a <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>En el metabolismo c4 la conjuncion de caracteristicas anatomica y bioquimicas, diferentes a las que operan en el metabolismo c3, permiten un mecanismo de concentracion del co2 en el sitio activo de la rubisco en las celulas de la vaina del haz, minimizando la actividad ioxigenasa de dicho enzima y reduciendo el flujo de carbono y nitrogeno por dicha ruta. El objetivo de esta tesis es estudiar la interrelacion de los procesos fotosinteticos con el metabolismo de nitrogeno y el ciclo fotorrespiratorio en una planta con metabolismo c4.  en este trabajo se analiza la sensibilidad de la glutamina sintetasa de maiz frente al inhibidor fosfinotricina analogo estructural del acido l-glutamico y sus consecuencias en el metabolismo del nitrogeno en una plan c4. Asimismo se realiza un estimacion del flujo del c y del n por la ruta fotorrespiratoria, mediante el empleo de la fosfinotricina y el acido aminooxiacetico.  asimismo se estudia el efecto que la inhibicion de la fotorrespiracion, bien a traves de la inhibicion de la actividad glutamina sintetasa o mediante la inhibicion de las transaminasas, mediante el empleo del acido aminooxiacetico produce sobre los procesos fotosinteticos, tanto a nivel de los procesos de intercambio de gases, como a nivel bioquimico y fotoquimico. Se analiza posteriormente si la inhibicion de la fotorrespiracion, tambien en plantas c4 conlleva una alteracion del ciclo c4, ciclo de calvin, analizando diversos enzimas y metabolitos de estas rutas, asi como los metabolitos mas representativos.
