Dolores <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Se ha realizado un estudio prospectivo sobre la morfolog\u00eda estructural, histoquimica, inmunohistoquimica, morfometria y ultraestructura de la arteria facial humana. Las 43 muestras estudiadas se obtuvieron de la regionsubmaxilar en individuos de 40 a 90 a\u00f1os.  los cortes obtenidos fueron te\u00f1idos mediante los metodos del tricromico de martins, tricromico de masson, orceina, verhoeff, p.A.S., Azul alcian ph 2.5, azul alcian-p.A.S.  de magnus-amarillo brillante e inmunohistoquimica (anticuerpos anti &#8211; a-actina).  la estructura morfologica de la arteria facial correspondio a una arteria de tipo muscular con ciertas peculiaridades que contituyeron el eje de la discusion.:  -no se hallaron engrosamientos intimales fisiologicos (cushions), lo cual apoya la hipotesis de su funcion reguladora puesto que en este vaso el control hemodinamico necesario se obtiene por otros mecanismos.  -los engrosamientos intimales patologicos (placas de ateroma) fueron los esperados para la edad, relacionandose estadisticamente con esta pero no con el sexo.  -las roturas de la lamina limitante interna se relacionaron con los engrosamientos intimales, entendiendolas como lugar de paso del material muscular a la intima.  -observamos laminas elasticas de orientacion longitudinal en la adventicia, las cuales se relacionarian con el esfuerzo acomodativo exigido a esta arteria. No tenemos noticias de hallazgos similares en otras arterias.  -en el analisis histoquimico resalto la presencia de mucosustancias acidas altamente sulfatadas a nivel de las roturas de la lamina elastica interna bajo los engrosamientos intimales, interesante punto de partida para posteriores investigaciones.  -los resultados morfometricos nos demostraron que el origen de las celulas musculares lisas presentes en los engrosamientos es la migracion desde la tunica media, mas que la proliferacion \u00ab\u00bbin situ, siendo el colageno segregado por estas el otro componente fundamental de lo<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral \u00ab<strong>Aportaciones a la organizacion funcional de la arteria facial humana.<\/strong>\u00ab<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>T\u00edtulo de la tesis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Aportaciones a la organizacion funcional de la arteria facial humana. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Autor:<\/strong>\u00a0  Alconchel Montorio M.
