La tesis se articula en cuatro capitulos exponiendose en el primero de ellos los modelos teoricos que seran objeto de contraste en los capitulos siguientes. El trabajo empirico se basa en una muestra de directivos espa\u00f1oles desarrollada por una empres consultora en recursos humanos. La principal aportacion del trabajo es poner de manifiesto que el salario de los directivos esta fuertemente correlacionado con el tama\u00f1o de la empresa, y ambas variables a su vez con la educacion y los a\u00f1os de experiencia acumulados por los directivos. Estos resultados se interpretan como que la educacion y los a\u00f1os de experiencia laboral son procesos de formacion de capacidad directiva; aquellos directivos con mayor capacidad obtendran mayores ingresos gestionando volumenes superiores de recursos.
