Fontani y d. Altipalatus.  en el segundo capitulo se hace una revision del modelo evolutivo de este grupo taxonomico en base a la aplicacion del metodo cladistico. Por sus caracteristicas avanzadas, dryopithecus estaria mas cerca del gorila actual que de orangutan. Estas caracteristicas serian:  (1) forma de las orbitas, (2) forma de la abertura nasal, (3) morfolog\u00eda subnasal, (4) grado de flexion facial, (5) morfolog\u00eda del triangulo facial inferior, (6) concavidad del trigono frontal, (7) espesor del esmalte dental, (8) tama\u00f1o relativo e implantacion de los incisivos centrales superiores.
