El interes de los estudios de los complejos de inclusion se centra en el conocimiento de su formacion y estructura y las fuerzas impulsoras. En este sentido, se han realizado estudios tanto por rmn como por mm de los complejos formados con acido benzoico y acidos piridinicos. Para el primero se ha comprobado la formacion del complejo, su estequimetria y k, mientras que para los acidos piridinicos no se ha evidenciado la formacion de los complejos. Las cd son moleculas quirales hecho que provoca que al complejar con mezclas racemicas forme pares diastereomericos detectables por rmn. Para estudiar la capacidad enantiodiferenciadora de las cd, se han preparado complejos con acido (rs)-, (r)- y (s)-mandelico, acido hexahidromandelico, 1-ciclohexiletilamina y ibuprofeno.
