Mediante purificacion y secuenciacion del extremo amino terminal de los peptidos obtenidos por digestion con las proteasas tripsina y proteasa v8 se determino que la fosforilacion in vivo de ambas proteinas se realiza sobre la serina 96.  adicionalmente la fosforilacion in vitro de la quinasa pk60 de levadura sobre yp2a tambien corresponde a la serina 96.  la mutagenesis dirigida de la serina 96 en estas dos proteinas permitio comprobar la participacion de este aminoacido en la fosforilacion in vivo de yp2a y yp1a, detectandose las proteinas mutadas desfosforiladas sobre el ribosoma, sin afectar la actividad biologica de estas dos proteinas.  las sustituciones de las serinas, 28, 71 y 79 en yp2a y de la serina 62 en yp1a no afecto la fosforilacion de estas dos proteinas ni su
