La formulacion de dicho metodo en tres dimensiones parte de una ecuacion integral derivada de las ecuaciones de maxwell, conocida como ecuacion de stratton-chu, que permite formular el valor de los campos en un punto interior a una superficie en terminos de las condiciones de contorno sobre dicha superficie. Cuando la superficie es compleja, dicha integral no es analitica, y es necesario discretizar la misma e interpolar los campos, de manera que se transforma la ecuacion integral en una ecuacion matricial cuya resolucion permite conocer el valor de los campos sobre un determinado numero de puntos definidos previamente.  una de las caracteristicas fundamentales de esta tecnica es el hecho de que las dimensiones de los sistemas de ecuaciones generados, al tener su origen en la discretizacion de los cuerpos o de sus contornos, depende directamente de su tama\u00f1o. Teniendo esto en cuenta, este metodo ve limitado su campo de aplicacion a objetos de pocas longitudes de onda.  en esta tesis se hace, primeramente, un estudio matematico de dicho metodo con la
