Isabel De Corcuera Labrado <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Los modos normales de vibracion libre de la tierra, excitados por fenomenos tales como los terremotos y las explosiones nucleares, se conocen como oscilaciones libres de la tierra. La importancia fundamental de su estudio reside en que las frecuencias de oscilacion nos proporcionan informacion sobre la estructura interna de la tierra. Se distinguen dos tipos de oscilaciones, con caracteristicas claramente diferenciadas, denominadas toroidales y esferoidales.  se aborda en esta tesis el problema de la optimizacion de los algoritmos numericos propios del calculo de las autofrecuencias para ambos tipos de oscilacion libre.
