Para ello se ha acudido a tres elementos basicos: la resolucion de las ecuaciones de momento de ambas fases, la analogia entre transferencia de masa y calor y el desarrollo de nuevos metodos para la estimacion de variables de singular relieve (i.E., espesor del condensado, coeficiente de transferencia por condensacion). Todos estos elementos han sido conjugados con una cuidadosa eleccion de las correlaciones mas adecuadas para los numeros de nusselt, shernood, el factor de friccion, etc.  el modelo ha sido validado contra una serie de experimentos realizados en berkeley. Los resultados han demostrado la consistencia fisica de las respuesta del modelo (hvtnc) y la optima precision lograda (mas de 2.5 veces se ha disminuido el error promedio respecto a otros modelos).
