Dicho sistema es aplicado a la inspeccion de pliegos de billetes de banco. La automatizacion de este proceso es particularmente critica, lo cual le covierte en un producto altamente complejo. El proceso de fabricacion necesario implica superposicion de impresiones, lo que causa significativas diferencias entre pliegos impresos en condiciones similares.  la resolucion del sistema se lleva a cabo mediante la conjuncion de varias disciplinas. Las tecnicas empleadas deben lograr un compromiso entre dos caracteristicas contrapuestas para un sistema basado en vision artificial: resolucion y velocidad de procesamiento. Para lograr el primer punto se emplean procesamientos morfologicos en la generacion de las imagenes patron y deteccion a nivel subpixel. La segunda caracteristica esta condicionada por ser el sistema de tiempo real.
