El presente trabajo de tesis ha abordado cuestiones concretas de los diferentes aspectos de los genes e2f. En concreto, y dando continuidad a la linea de investigaci\u00f3n seguida por nuestro laboratorio en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, el trabajo se ha centrado en el an\u00e1lisis de los genes e2f1 y e2f2:  -por un lado se ha analizado la regulaci\u00f3n de la actividad de los propios genes e2f. En concreto, se ha analizado la existencia de un nuevo mecanismos de control de dicha actividad a nivel de mrna. Se ha encontrado que el mrna del gen e2f1 porta secuencias en su regi\u00f3n 3\u00c2\u00bfno traducida (3\u00c2\u00bfutr) que median la r\u00ed\u00a0pida degradaci\u00f3n del mrna.  -por otro lado, se ha profundizado en el an\u00e1lisis de las funciones del gen e2f2 in vivo mediante la utilizaci\u00f3n de ratones carentes de e2f2(e2f2-1-). el trabajo se ha centrado en el analisis de la funci\u00f3n de e2f2 en el control de la apoptosis, diferenciaci\u00f3n y proliferaci\u00f3n.  -por \u00faltimo, y con ayuda de la tecnolog\u00eda de dna microarrays,se han identificado una gran cantidad de genes que parecen ser regulados por e2f1 y e2f2 y cuya desregulaci\u00f3n en los ratones e2f1-\/- y e2f2-\/- podria ser la causa de las alteraciones presentes en estos
