Revisamos las caracteristicas de la demanda, del sistema de tarifas, de la estructura productiva, la eficiencia, los costes, las externalidades, etc.. Seguidamente describimos las caracteristicas organizacionales de la industria haciendo enfasis en los modelos de propiedad y gestion destacando las tendencias generales en lo que a privatizaciones se refiere. Asimismo, evaluamos los resultados de la gestion de los aeropuertos espa\u00f1oles mediante una serie de indicadores parciales de rendimiento economico-financiero. La estructura productiva de la industria aeroportuaria es analizada a traves de la estimacion de su funcion dual de costes. Desarrollamos un modelo ad hoc y posteriormente contrastamos los resultados obtenidos mediante la estimacion de una funcion translogaritmica de costes conjuntos.
