Propone considerar esta frontera imperfecta como un nuevo dielectrico inhomogeneo caracterizandole con una permitividad electrica variable con la posicion en la direccion axial. Analiza diversos modelos dependiendo del espesor del obstaculo.  propone tres modelos en orden creciente de precision.  demostrando que es posible aplicar el modelo mas sencillo, sin reflexion, cuando el obstaculo que llena la guia posee un espesor superior a 30 cms. Para anchuras menores se propone el modelo con reflexion y por ultimo con el modelo continuo de frontera dielectrica consigue describir con una unica funcion para el campo electrico el comportamiento de este en toda la guia.
