Gema <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>En corteza frontoparietal e hipocampo de la rata la serotonina (5-ht) aumenta el numero de receptores de somatostatina (ss), mientras que lo disminuye en acinos pancreaticos. La 5-ht reduce la capacidad de la ss para inhibir la actividad adenilato ciclasa (ac) estimulada por forskolina tanto en cerebro (corteza frontoparietal e hipocampo) como en pancreas exocrino. Esta disminucion no se debe a una alteracion de la subunidad catalitica de la enzima, sino que se puede deber a la menor actividad funcional de las proteinas gi encontrada en el presente estudio. En el pancreas exocrino, la menor inhibicion por ss de la actividad ac inducida por la 5-ht se puede deber tambien a la disminucion del numero de receptores de ss observada. Estos resultados sugieren que la 5-ht modula el sistema somatostatinergico cerebral y pancreatico de la rata a traves de sus receptores especificos. Las fibras serotoninergicas que inervan la corteza frontoparietal y el hipocampo de la rata poseen receptores de ss. La 5-ht y la ss no estan presentes en las mismas neuronas en corteza frontoparietal e hipocampo de la rata.
