Se ha realizado el estudio fisico-quimico y microestructural de los vidrios obtenidos, asi como del proceso de desvitrificacion para su transformacion en materiales vitroceramicos con aplicaciones en industria de la construccion. El estudio de la caracterizacion y propiedades de estos materiales se ha realizado con las siguientes tecnicas: funcion de distribucion radial (rdf) para determinar el orden de corto y largo alcance; espectroscopia mossbauer; analisis termico diferencial (atd) microscopia electronica de barrido (meb) y de transmision (met). De igual modo se han estudiado las propiedades mecanicas de estos materiales a traves de la determinacion del modulo de elasticidad, tenacidad de fractura y
