Siguiendo este interes, en esta tesis se planteo como objetivo la consolidacion de cermets basados en tib2, ya que este compuesto ceramico es mas duro y menos denso que el wc.  el fe y el ni fueron seleccionados para la fase ligante metalica o intermetalica ya que ambos son de sencilla disponibilidad. Los materiales fueron desarrollados en base a la metalurgia de pilvos con las tecnicas de sinterizacion de hip, sinter-hip y sinterizacion sin presion, a temperaturas comprendidas entre 1350 y 1550 grados c. Desde el punto de vista termoquimico, fueron necesarias adiciones de ti y al para evitar la formacion de boruros secundarios no deseados m2b y m23b6. Los materiales se caracterizan por microestructuras con granos de tib2, ti(n,c) y al2o3 rodeados de una fase ligante con fe, ni, ti y al. Estos materiales presentan una buena resistencia a la fractura, una mejor tenacidad que los ceramicos de tib2 y una mejor relacion dureza\/tenacidad que los carburos cementados. Sin embargo, la resistencia a la oxidacion de los certmes de tib2 es inferior a la de los ceramicos de este mismo compuesto.M<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
