Esta tesis estudia el contenido teologico implicito en su mitolog\u00eda, teniendo en cuenta para una recta interpretacion, al resto de sus obras.  asi, el primer capitulo trata sobre el mito tolkiniano y su hermenautica. El segundo, partiendo de su mito cosmogonico, estudia su idea de la creacion, y las consecuencias ella implica en el ser de la criatura y en la relacion entre esta y el creador. Frente a la bondad ontologica de la creacion aparece el mal como problema, al cual se dedica el cap. Iii. La historia que se desarrolla en el mundo tolkiniano es tambien una historia salvifica. Por eso el cap. Iv trata de la providencia y la libertad; el v del designio divino que elige preferentemente a los humildes y a los peque\u00f1os, y el vi, del crecimiento espiritual que estos experimentan al esforzarse por ser fieles a dichos designios.
