Se analizan cincuenta y dos (52) variantes en veintinueve (29) versiculos.  se realiza un estudio pormenorizado de la doble edicion (texto masoretico y septuaginta) de los versiculos 32-34, y se proponen dos conjeturas para poder dar sentido a esos mismos versiculos. Sobre el texto criticamente establecido se lleva a cabo un analisis historico y teologico de la redaccion del capitulo. Sus resultados son:  a) la presencia en el origen del capitulo de un relato-base que recoge la tradicion de una alimentacion en el desierto, formado por los versiculos 1-3.6-7.11-15.31.(35); b) la existencia de un relato complementario posterior que gira alrededor de cuatro pruebas a las que es sometido el pueblo, dirigido a explicar el origen de la historizacion del precepto sabatico en la religion de israel, formado por los versiculos 4-5. (9-10). 16-30; c) los vv. 32-34 son un apendice posterior al cap.
