En primer lugar, se presentan aquellos conceptos filosoficos que permiten establecer que hay suficientes textos y opiniones autorizadas que muestran que es posible encontrar en s. Agustin un concepto filosofico de virtud. En segundo lugar, presenta un estudio profundo de los textos de s. Agustin preferentemente aquellos en los que es posible encontrar dicho concepto de una manera explicita. Dicho estudio muestra que hay una continuidad entre los escritos tempranos y los tardios. En la tercera parte. Hay un estudio del rechazo agustiniano de la virtud pagana-se ve como, tomando en cuenta los conceptos filosoficos de la primera parte, y las definiciones de la segunda es posible decir que el rechazo
