A partir de las disoluciones de trioxido de molibdeno de acido clorhidrico y los extractos etereos se ha aislado una serie de aductos de esfera externa de mo02c12 (h20)2 con numerosos eteres. Mediante el tratamiento con cloruro calcico de las disoluciones etereas se obtiene una disolucion de mo02c12 en eter que ha mostrado su utilidad para la preparacion de numerosos aductos.  combinando reacciones de metatesis y de transferencia de atomos de oxigeno se han obtenido varios haluros y dipicolinatos de oxomolibdeno (iv, v, vi) neutros y\/o cationicos.  los cloruros y bromuros de oxomolibdeno (iv, vi) han mostrado ser excelentes catalizadores en reacciones de transferencia de atomos de oxigeno, y la estabilidad de mo02c12(dmf)2 y mo0c12(dmf)2 ha permitido estudiar por separado las dos partes que componen el ciclo catalitico y determinar las constantes de velocidad de las reacciones de transferencia de oxigeno desde y hacia el molibdeno.  finalmente se ha hecho un estudio de la aplicabilidad de estos catalizadores a la desoxigenacion de azoxiderivados mediante trifenilfosfina comparando su actividad con la ya conocida de los
