La sobreexpresi\u00f3n del transgen de rata a nivel del test\u00edculo provoca un bloqueo parcial de la promera divisi\u00f3n meirotica y aumento de la muerte celular programada o apoptosis de las c\u00e9lulas germinales, espec\u00edficamente espermatocitos primarios y c\u00e9lulas meioticas. Estas c\u00e9lulas apoptoticas sobreexpresan el mrna y la prote\u00edna del receptor de estrogenos beta. La proteina, admeas, se cumula a nivel del citoplasma de dichas c\u00e9lulas apoptoticas.  b,- rat\u00f3n transg\u00e9nico para la shbg\/abp humana. El transcrito que se sobreexpresa a nivel del testiculo de la l\u00ednea shbg 11 procede del promotor alternativo y contiene el ex\u00f3n alternativo; adem\u00e1s la shbg\/abp humana se expresa en las c\u00e9lulas germinales. La prote\u00edna shbg\/abp humana se encuentra a nivel de acrosoma de las c\u00e9lulas germinales a lo largo de la fase de elongaci\u00f3n de la espermatogenesis y a nivel del acrosoma en los espermatozoides epididimarios.  2,- para el estudio del cancer de prostata se han usado diferentes lineas celulares de prostata y muestras de pacientes con c\u00e1ncer de prostata.  a,- lineas celulares de c\u00e1ncer de prostata. Se ha trabajado con dos lineas celulares tumorales (pc3 y lncap) y l\u00edneas celulares normales (cahvp10 y pzhvp7). Las lineas pc3 y lncap sobreexpresan tres transcritos que codifican para la shbg\/abp humana.
