Se conoce muy poco acerca de los mecamos implicados en la haloadaptacion. En este trabajo se identifican que regiones del genoma de la archaea halofila haloferax volcanii se encuentran implicadas en la osmorregulacion, usando como tecnica la hibridacion de cdna obtenido a tres concentraciones salinas (12, 20, y 30%). Se observa que las regiones implicadas en la osmorregulacion aparecen ampliamente distribuidas por el genoma, existiendo dos regiones, una en el cromosoma y otra en el plasmido de mayor tama\u00f1o, con una fuerte respuesta a la salinidad del medio. Se han analizado las regiones promotoras de algunos de los genes osmorregulados, detectandose secuencias con alternancia de purinas-primidinas susceptibles de formar z-dna que podria estar implicado en la regulacion de la transcripcion, asi como secuencias denominadas stre descritas hasta el momento unicamente en genes osmorregulados de eucariotas. Tambien se describe como varia la sintesis proteica de h. Volcanii en funcion de las variaciones osmoticas del medio, existiendo dos tipos de respuesta, una transitoria y una estacionaria.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
