Cerevisiae con defectos en el proceso de fosforilacion de n-oligosacaridos. Todos ellos muestran una reduccion en la afinidad por el colorante \u00abalcian blue\u00bb y por esta razon se han llamado mutantes 1db (low dye binding). Los mutantes se seleccionaron por su incapacidad para unirse a bolas de qae sephadex, una resina de intercambio cationico. Se han caracterizado los grupos de complementacion 1db1 y 1db2. El defecto 1db2 resulta en la no incorporacion de grupos fosfatos a los n-oligosacaridos, mientras que 1db1 afecta a varias funciones relacionadas con la biosintesis de n-oligosacaridos: incorporacion de grupos fosfato, alargamiento y ramificacion de la cadena externa, procesamiento por la proteasa kex2, alargamiento de o-oligosacaridos y probablemente tambien alguna funcion relacionada con el r.E.
