S. Peirce, w. James y j. Dewey.  se muestra que el pragmatismo constituye una reformulacion critica de la tradicion empirista en epistemolog\u00eda, en la que se redefinen los conceptos basicos de \u00abexperiencia\u00bb, \u00abrealidad\u00bb e \u00abinterpretacion\u00bb.  la segunda parte contiene un analisis pormenorizado de la teoria pragmatista del conocimiento de c. I. Lewis, expuesta en su trabajo de 1929 \u00abmind and the world order\u00bb. El proposito de este analisis es valorar una teoria que propone una peculiar combinacion de contenidos empiricos inmediatos y elaboracion conceptual aprioristica e instrumental como elementos presentes en toda realizacion cognitiva. Se trata de alcanzar, mediante la perspectiva pragmatista, un concepto de verdad no absolutamente relativizado, pero definido desde la variedad y la funcionalidad de los \u00absistemas
