La induccion del gen hrgp depende de la concentracion de elicitor de f. Moniliforme y el tiempo de incubacion. El etileno y la fosforilacion de proteinas estan implicados en la via de transduccion de la se\u00f1al del elicitor. El acido ascorbico y el glutation activan la expresion del gen hrgp. El componente glucido del elicitor de f. Moniliforme es, al menos en parte, responsable de la actividad elicitora.  fracciones semipurificadas de elicitor enriquecidas en proteinas y sin acidos uronicos respecto a la preparacion elicitora original activan el gen hrgp. Existe una gran acumulacion del mrna hrgp en el estilo maduro, especialmente en la epidermis, tejido de conduccion y en los vellos laterales, siendo menor su acumulacion en el
